Words of Wisdom at the U

So I just had to write this down and share the intelligent people I go to school with. While sitting in the halls I heard this conversation go on:

(I'll only write the boy's part because the girl part doesn't really matter).
Boy: You should just cheat on your test
Girl: Yadda Yadda Yadda
Boy: I've cheated on every undergraduate test I have ever taken.
Girl Yadda Yadda Yadda
Boy: I'm just going to school so people don't think I am a bum. I don't want to work but because I am in school that's ok that I'm not working and this way I'm still giving to society.
Girl: Yadda Yadda Yadda
Boy: I'm only going to work if I can go in at 9 or later and if I never see my boss. If I ever see my boss I'll just quit.

WHAT?... Who is this kid?

Brush, Rinse, Repeat

I should be at the Jazz game but I thought I'd do the responsible thing and stay home and do homework. So I started to do homework but then it lead me to thinking that I haven't updated in a while, so that's why I'm here. My life has become repetitive and I might go crazy. I was looking at my planner and every day there is the same things to do: class, homework, gym, scriptures and repeat. I wish I had something new to do each day but when something new does get thrown into the mix I have homework that blocks it. I have never had this much schooling and I want to cry everyday, I want to quit everyday. I only have 1 more semester after this and then I am done but sometimes I don't want to even finish, my life has become boring. We don't even vacation anymore because of how much schooling I have and since I don't have a job that leaves us broke after our bills are paid for the month.

And then days that I want to give up ( everyday) I think that even though this sucks right now, I'm pretty lucky to even go to school. Instead of bitching I should just suck it up and be grateful. Everyday I try to start off grateful and then somewhere in the day it gets lost. I'll just have to try again tomorrow, maybe throwing some gratitude in the day might mix up my routine.

Biggest Loser

I just love this show. I have never watched it before but I stumbled upon it last Tuesday and even though I only saw the weigh ins at the end of the show I'm hooked. I love that it's real people and they are there to help each other and it's not about who sleeps with who, and who is the sluttiest. You didn't have to be slutty to get on the show, unlike American Idol bikini girl if anyone watched it last night. I already am the most sensitive person ever and I totally cried last night. It was just so sad the 2 people that try the hardest were in the bottom 2. I am so glad Dan got to stay though. He is 19 and his weight started out at 454, he is just short and stubby and I love him. I did get a little more happy at the end when it showed how well Jerry was doing after the show. I think I might be too sensitive to watch this show because I always think about whats going on in their heads. I really want Dan to win because everyone else has had somewhat of a life and I'm sure Dan hasn't had as much opportunities as some of the other players. But then again I could just be a sucker and Dan could really be some Mac Daddy. If you haven't watched it you totally should. Luckily on Tuesday's I have a couple of shows, otherwise I don't think I could stay up very late for Joe's soccer games.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We went from this on Christmas day to...

This on New Years in Palm Desert!

Joe and I went on a last minute vacation to Palm Desert with my sister and her family. Tyler called us Tuesday night to go and we left a few hours later. We had to get our last minute vacay in while we still can with Marriott. We got to Palm Desert with Beautiful weather at an average of 70 degrees a day. That is how Christmas should be sunny and clear skies, not snow stormy so you can't see the car in front of you. Joe got a couple rounds of golf in while I got some sun rays. On New Year's eve we played games with Tyler and Jeff like it was no body's business. While everyone else at the hotel was in their best dressy/slutty attire we were hanging out in our jeans and pajamas. While everyone was drinking the finest champagne and eating expensive meals. Jeff got us a plethora of treats that covered all our taste buds. We had some Fritos, milk duds, diet cokes, butterfingers and many more treats But we did start the new year right with a bottle of sparkling cider, well we opened it a little earlier than midnight but it lasted until midnight so that still counts. It was a great vacation of relaxing and basically free so I'd say it was a good way to start the year. (Tori failed to mention that if you look close enough you can see my ball way over there on the green ;))

Joe and I were supposed to leave Sunday morning but we decided to leave Saturday night after a serious round of dominos. We drove through the night but while Joe slept( only to Vegas) I got a lot of thinking done.

Things I learned on a road trip:

1.Windmills are the most amazing things to look at when you can just see their silloute

2. I'm really good at the ABC game, but playing by yourself isn't as satisfying as playing against someone. I would have won even if Joe was awake

3. "Cry me a River" by JT is such a great song and is so about Brittany, which got me to think that maybe if they were still together then maybe she would have never gone crazy, which then lead to it's JT's fault she is crazy

4. People at 2 in the morning think they can drive in the pass lane just because not very many people are on the road... WRONG you should still drive in the slow lane because it sucks breaking while on cruise control.

5. It was a lot better driving into Palm Desert watching the temp go from 15 degrees to 30 to 50 to 70 rather than driving into Salt Lake with the temp going 70 to 30 to 11 to -5

6.Baker is still the worst place ever invented even at 2 in the A.M.

7. When I think no one can hear me I am pretty much the best singer ever! I pretty sure I was hitting all the right notes but Joe may say otherwise

I thought of a lot more things but writing and driving just isn't the easiest thing to do. Hope you had a good New Year!

I'm not trying to be dramatic but I rather shoot myself in the foot than see that movie

Why do people listen to "professional" movie critics. It's all based on their opinion and maybe you don't like the same type of movie Mr. Ebert likes. I'd never not see a movie because a critic says so because it doesn't really matter. In fact after last weekends mishap I'll probably never see a movie that a critic gives an A or B. Last weekend Joe and I saw a movie a night starting on Christmas.
First movie 7 Pounds. It was so good! Some people say it was a little slow but I absolutely loved it. There is suspense, love, sadness, excitement, everything is in this movie. The critics didn't so much love it and gave it an overall C. I would have given it an A.
Second Movie, Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I can not believe people gave that movie an A-. That was 3 hours of my life I will never get back. If you think 7 Pounds is slow then this movie will seem like an eternity. The acting was great but it's a story with out anything to it. NO excitement whatsoever, no climax, nothing. He never gets in trouble, no one ever makes fun of him. I almost wanted him to go to school when he was a kid so he would at least get made fun of to throw something in there. A lot of people liked it but I'm pretty sure if you liked it it's probably because you feel asleep when it started and woke up when it ended, you at least got a 3 hour nap out of it. I am happy I just saw it in Utah where movie tickets are only $5 instead of $11.
Third movie Ghost Town. We saw it at the dollar theater but even if it was in a normal theater I would still rather see that movie 2 times in a row over seeing Benjamin Button. If you haven't seen it, you defiantly should.

It's a Festivis Miracle

This weekend was amazing. I didn't even think about not having a job because we were so busy, until today that is. But that's alright it's just a little Christmas break right now.

On Friday night the Coccimiglio's went to dinner to one of the best restaurants ever( Thanks Dave and Jen). It is called Cucina Toscana and if you live or are visiting Salt Lake you should defiantly go. The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was awesome. All the pasta is fresh hand made the day of. The owner is the cutest old Italian man that just walks around and talks to everyone and makes everyone feel important. I just wanted to take him home with me. My new favorite Italian (not to be confused with Mexican, Red Iguana is still my fav) restaurant is by far Cucina Toscana.

On Saturday I started off with my sister doing a favorite things party. She made a delicious tortilla soup topped off with an amazing dessert, brownie obsession from T.G.I. Friday's. If you like your brownies and chocolate you should get it because it is delicious! Tyler had all her sister-in-laws and mother-in-law there and she gave us a bag full of all her favorite things. Just to let you know Ty I have already used my Oxy Clean thanks to some fab bruscetta spelling on my white jacket.

Saturday night the Coccimiglio's had a surprise birthday party for Frankie It was so much fun. Frankie had all his old friends there and it was seriously like a kid in the candy shop. He had a smile on his face the whole time, it was priceless.

Sorry for the lack of pictures, it was a busy fun weekend but I just didn't want to get my camera out to take pictures so hopefully I'll get some from the sisters.

I can't believe Christmas is in 3 days. That just doesn't make sense. I do have to admit I was watching The Grinch the other day and started to get a little teary eyed. Not because of the movie but because I just realized this is my first Christmas without my family in 23 years. That is really sad to me and even though I know I'll have a good time with Joe's family, it's still a little different. Even though growing up he always made fun of my dad for all his traditions and nonsense, I kinda miss it now. I"ll kinda miss the train set, and the same questions my dad ask while video taping us before we get to see the presents, the sausage casserole and the oranges in my stocking. Well i guess that is just part of growing up, I'll just have to wait until next year.

Offically Unemployed

Today is my first official day of no job. Now what do I do?

Christmas Shop...Check

Laundry...Check

Clean house...Check

Grocery Shop...Check

I have about 3 weeks until school starts and I don't think I can go grocery shopping and clean the house every day. I may go crazy not having anything to do. I know I should probably look for a job and I well eventually but with school being so crazy I kinda want to see how I can handle that first. I should be out running some more errands but it is snowing like crazy. I hate the snow more than anything and when your driving in the snow, it's like everything is in slow motion and I can't handle it. nothing that exciting has happened but I just figured add a post on my busy busy day today. We did watch Elf yesterday and that has to be one of the greatest Christmas movies ever. The ending is a little cheesy but the rest is a hoot. I could watch that every day until Christmas and be just as happy as ever.
